He was a member of the Adelphotis Vinianiton and always dreamed of going back to his beloved village. His beloved wife Christina passed away on March 1991 at the young age of 52 and Vaios dedicated his life to raising Georgia. Once he retired he was able to go back to Greece and spend his summers in Viniani and find old and new friends. Georgia married Bill Demopoulos August 20, 1995 and they had four sons; Konstantinos, Vaios, Christo and Panayoti.

He loved to read and always loved a good debate. Vaios’s grandchildren were his biggest joy, and he enjoyed every minute he got to spend with them until his passing on February 16, 2012.
