Nick
Karagiorgis
Born October 20th, 1957
Nick was born on October 20th, 1957 in Lamia to Stavros and Eleftheria Karagiorgis of Viniani. He was born alongside his twin brother Angelo, and later on his younger brother Gregorios was born in Viniani. After the earthquake in 1966 that devastated Viniani, the family immigrated to America in 1967 in search of new opportunities. Nick built a successful career in restaurant equipment sales, first working for Food Craft, and later starting his own company, Eastern Food Equipment. On June 30th, 1991 he married Stacey Ragatsios, the daughter of Apostolos "Paul" Ragatsios of Viniani. Their marriage (officiated at the Greek church in Winston Salem) brought great joy to both families as it united two individuals whose roots trace back to Viniani. In that same year, he sold his company and began a new chapter by founding Little Richard's Bar n' Que in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The restaurant proved successful, and lead to the creation of several sister locations throughout the area. Eventually, his son Stavros and his daughter Victoria would assume daily operations.
Nick and Stacey have two children, Stavros (born in 1992) and Victoria (born in 1993). Both share the same birthday on October 28th (known in Greece as "Oxi Day") exactly one year apart. In June 2024, Victoria married Johnny Kaliviotis (the son of Sotirios and Penelope Kaliviotis) and are expecting their first child in the spring of 2026.
From growing up in Viniani, to building a life and family business in the United States, Nick's journey reflects the perseverance and family values shared by many members of the Greek diaspora. His strong sense of pride in his heritage is something that he strove to instill within his children even when they were young, and something he hopes will carry on to the next generation of his family.
