George K. Nikopoulos was born in Viniani in  September 27 1935 to Konstantinos and Persephone (Kithas) Nikopoulos.

At the age of 15, he immigrated to Fort Worth, Texas in 1951. He worked alongside his uncle, Angelo Kithas in the restaurant. In 1960, he returned to Greece where he married Helen Georgiou of Mavromata. They returned to America together and ultimately decided to move to Charlotte, NC.  He immersed himself in the restaurant business owning and operating several restaurants in the Charlotte area.

In 1961, they welcomed their son, Dino. George and Dino worked alongside each other in the restaurants they owned together over the years, and created memories that will last a lifetime. In 1995, Dino married Anna Tsoutsi of Thiva and they had two daughters, Elina (Christos) and Marianna (Dominic). George was a devoted member of Holy Trinity, the Evrytanian Association of America, and Adelphotis Vinianiton. He was both proud and passionate about his roots, and loved to tell his granddaughters stories about his life growing up and showing them the village when they summered in Greece together. He was a simple man, and will be remembered for his wisdom and devotion to his family.
