Argiris N. Kolokythas (also known as Harry Nicholas Kithas) was born on May 31st, 1896 in Viniani, Evrytanias to Nikolaos (1861-1905) and Eleni Kolokythas. He had one brother Christoforos (June 13th, 1892—July 5th, 1989) who was also born in Viniani. Argiris was only 19 years old when he allegedly came to America by stowing away on a ship, and managed to make his way to Fort Worth, Texas. On October 12th, 1933, Argiris married Maria Karagiorgis (also known as Mary George, September 12th, 1912—October 10th, 2000) from Viniani. They had four children: Eleni (Mitsakis), Alexandria (Kanelakis), Christine (Vouras), and Nicholas. In 1939, he opened the "US Sandwich Shop" on Main Street in Forth Worth, Texas, which he operated until his retirement. In addition to being a talented restaurateur, he dabbled in the oil well business in West Texas, and was also a proud Mason. His daughter Alexandria married James L. Canelakes on July 4th, 1953. They had two sons: Louis J. and Christopher H. Their sons would go on to jointly own and operate Louie's restaurant & bar in Dallas, Texas, which was featured on Guy Fieri's national TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. ADDENDUM On Argiris' son, Nicholas Kithas Nicholas Kithas has owned several restaurants since 1972, and is currently the owner of Jazz Cafe in Fort Worth, Texas. He was briefly in a rock and roll band in the mid-1960's until he discovered his love for jazz music, which endures to this day. In 1972, Nicholas Kithas married Nancy Ann Tibbs. In 1973, they had one son: Alexander H. Kithas. Nicholas remarried in 1978 to Angela Norton. Together, they had one daughter: Maria Helena Kithas.
