Apostolos
Rogatsios

Born June 26th, 1934
Died July 9th, 2018

Apostoli was born in Viniani to Konstantinos and Evangelia (Kroustalis) Rogatsios. At the age of 17, he immigrated to America and immersed himself in the restaurant business, having owned and operated several restaurants in Winston Salem, NC and the surrounding communities. In March of 1959, he married Vasiliki (Bessie) Kokinos of Kalesmeno. The wedding took place in Greensboro, NC, with Kostas Balafas as his koumboro (best man). Apostoli and Bessie adopted two children: Konstantinos (Dean) and Anastasia (Stacey) when they were infants. Stacey married Nicks S. Karagiorgis, and Dean married Cameron Chapell. Apostoli was a devoted member of the Greek church, the Everytanian Association of America, and Adelphotis Vinianiton. He was both proud and passionate about his homeland and his village, and took great joy in introducing his grandchildren to the roots of his heritage. He will be remembered for his strong faith, his love for his family, and his sense of humor.
