Andigonie “Annie” Nikopoulos was born February 19th, 1932 in Viniani, Evrytanias to Apostolis & Eleni Nikopoulos. Her siblings were Sotirios ”Sam” Nikopoulos and Maria (Papageorgiou).

Her father Apostolis left for America in 1939 in search of a better opportunity, but following the onset of WW2, the family became separated for 8 long years. After the war in 1947, the Red Cross helped to reunite the family in Greenville, NC. In 1953, she met and married Kostas Hondros (1925-1989)─the son of Alexandros and Konstantina Hondros─who was residing in Fayetteville, NC. Kostas was born in the village of Agia Vlaherna in Evrytanias, and was known as a proud Mason and Shriner.

They had two sons, Alexandros in 1954, and Apostolis in 1955. In 1960, the family relocated to Charlotte, NC where Kostas became a partner in the King's Cottage restaurant. In 1967, he ventured into his own restaurant called the Town House in Pineville, NC. In 1972, he acquired the Golden Dolphin Restaurant in Fort Mill, SC. Annie not only helped her husband run his businesses, she also helped her brother Sam at the Village restaurant.

She passed away in Charlotte, NC in 2005.
